Khaba dkarbo (Meili Snow Mountain) in Dechen (Deqin) County of Diqin Tibetan Autonomous Region is the highest peak in Yunnan. It is one of khampas' most revered pilgrimage sites. It takes about five hours by car from Dechen to Gyalthang (Zhongdian), where Krisadawan has done her fieldwork. Dechen is also another interesting site for research on Tibetan language and culture.
